Installation

Below is a simple walkthrough to help you install the door handle and matching rosette in a few easy steps. If the video above isn’t enough, refer to this guide.

How to Install Your Door Handle & Rosette

What you will need

  • Door handle & matching rosette
  • Screws (usually provided with handles)
  • Screwdriver (flat or Phillips, depending on screw type)
  • Possibly a chisel (if adjustments needed in the door recess)
  • Measuring tape or ruler

Installation Steps :

  1. Prepare the door surface
Make sure the door edge where the handle and rosette will mount is clean, flat and free from obstructions.
If there’s an existing handle, remove it carefully.

  2. Mark & drill pilot holes
Align the rosette (base plate) on the door where the handle will go.
Mark through the screw holes and the centre where the spindle (handle shaft) will pass.
Drill pilot holes for the screws (if required) to avoid splitting the wood.

  3. Insert the spindle
Slide the spindle through the latch mechanism (this is the square bar that connects both handle sides through the door).

  4. Attach the first side (inner/outer handle)
Fix one handle side to the spindle. Hold the rosette in place and screw it into the door using the pilot holes.
    β€Žβ€Žβ€Žβ€Žβ€Žβ€Žβ€Žβ€Žγ…€
  5. Fix the second handle side
Align the opposite handle onto the other end of the spindle, matching up its rosette.
Tighten its screws, ensuring both handles are level and aligned with each other.
    β€Žβ€Žβ€Žβ€Žβ€Žβ€Žβ€Žβ€Žγ…€
  6. Check for smooth operation
Move the handle up/down (or turning as per style) to make sure the latch retracts correctly, and the handle returns properly when released.
    β€Žβ€Žβ€Žβ€Žβ€Žβ€Žβ€Žβ€Žγ…€
  7. Finish up
If needed, tighten all screws, clean away any shavings or debris, and ensure the rosettes sit flush with the door.

Tips & Warnings:

  • Don’t over-tighten screws. This can crack the rosette or damage the door surface.
  • If the mechanism feels stiff, check that the spindle and latch are aligned correctly; sometimes slight adjustment of the hole positions is needed.
  • Always use parts supplied with the handle set; mismatched screws or spindle length can lead to poor fit or instability.
